Haiku

Haiku is an open-source clone of BeOS. It is under active development and it has not reached a stable release yet.

From my experience, it mostly works and is quite usable on old PCs without crashes. It has some experimental support for additional processor architectures, such as ARM and x86_64, but these break backward compatibility with the original BeOS.
